Sculptures That Tell a Story: From Norfolk Trees to Timeless Art

I grew up on a farm in the heart of Norfolk, where working with my hands and being close to the land were simply part of everyday life. That upbringing sparked a lasting respect for nature and a particular fascination with woodwork and the unique character of timber.

What began as a personal project, involving the carving of logs and reclaimed wood, has evolved into a full-time creative pursuit. Chainsaw sculptures allow me to transform overlooked or discarded wood whether it’s a fallen tree, a forgotten stump, or a weathered beam into striking, man made sculptures with meaning and presence. My goal is to bring out the natural spirit of each piece, while creating visually compelling sculptures that endure.

Much of my inspiration comes from the Norfolk countryside and the wildlife that inhabits it. Every sculpture tells a story, rooted in the textures, shapes, and grain of the material I work with. From private commissions to public installations, I strive to craft work that connects people to the natural world thoughtfully and powerfully.

From Wood To Bronze: My Evolving Artistic Journey

My passion for creativity doesn’t stop at chainsaw carving; it’s just one part of a broader artistic journey. I’ve recently started working with bronze, drawn to its strength, beauty, and timeless quality. Exploring bronze sculptures and the process of bronze casting has opened up new dimensions in my work. I’m fascinated by how bronze art can capture fine detail and enduring form, and I’m always experimenting with new materials and techniques that challenge me and expand my perspective. Whether it’s texture, form, or medium, my goal is to continue evolving as a bronze sculpture artist pushing the boundaries of both traditional and contemporary bronzework.
